Thanks to our Year 6 students from 2016, we have purchased three pencil statues reflecting our PBL (Positive Behaviours engaging Learners) Key expectations of RESPECT / RESPONSIBILITY / EFFORT. The pencils have been installed and the rose garden is undergoing a makeover. New plants were purchased from the proceeds of our recent mufti fundraiser. Some very generous donations of both cash and plants were also received.
On Friday the 10th March, a team of swimmers competed in the Zone carnival at Homebush Aquatic Centre. Congratulations to Tess, Elle, Zac, Isabelle and Emily on their achievements. We are very excited that Tess, has been chosen to represent the school at the Area Carnival in the Junior 200 IM.
Responsible Pet Program
Students from years K to 2 were involved in a Responsible Pet Program on the 10th of March with a visit from Pepe the poodle. The program focused on teaching the children about dog safety. They were involved in discussion and role play of:
• when dogs should be left alone
• things we should not do to dogs
• how we can tell if a dog is happy, frightened or angry
• a safe way to approach and greet a dog and
• what to do if approached by an unknown or aggressive dog.
It was an interesting and informative workshop which was enjoyed by all.
