Cherrybrook Combined Probus Club recently took up the call to ‘Shake Hands with the Snowy’ to assist in a tourist led recovery.
Club members visited the Snowy High Country from a base in Jindabyne.
Although small pockets of burnt bushland were evident, the majority of the landscape was beautiful, looking green and fresh following recent rains. Members enjoyed an eclectic mix of visits including the Gaden Trout Hatchery, Snowy Discovery Centre, Thredbo Village, a tour of Cooma Gaol Museum and the exquisite historic Burnima House.
They helped the local economy with retail therapy in Cooma and Jindabyne and some enthusiastic spending at the Wild Brumby Distillery.
If you are semi-retired or retired and looking to return to the carefree social days of your youth, if you enjoy fun, new friendships, interesting outings and stimulating speakers Probus could be for you.
Under normal circumstances, we meet on the first Thursday of the month at the Cherrybrook Community Centre, Shepherds Lane, Cherrybrook although meetings are currently suspended due to government health directives.
We look forward to sharing meeting details with you in the future and warmly welcoming you to Probus.
